Introduction : Museum Asian-African Conference is located in a building
called Gedung
Merdeka, owned by The Government of West Java Province. It’s not only
the contents of this museum that make it worth a visit, but also the building
itself and the historical story behind it. This museum as the historical museum was built by the famous Dutch architects; Van Gallen Last and C.P. Wolf Schoemaker
in
1926. And after the Indonesian Proclamation of Independence
on 17 August 1945, the
building was used as
headquarters
by the Indonesian
independence
fighters,
against Japanese troops. After the recognition of Indonesian Independence by
The Netherlands I 1949, and the formation of federal government of Negara Pasundan, Concordia building
was once
again used as
public gathering hall, for art performances,
parties,
dances,
and gala dinner.

The museum is exhibiting a collection of three-dimensional objects and
documentary photographs from the Pertemuan Tugu (Monument Meeting), Colombo Conference
Event the Conference
of Bogor,
and
the Asian-African
Conference in 1955.
Regular Programs
for
the
museum
are
: permanent
exhibition, lectures, coaching, scouting, and cooperation. The museum
facilities are : a permanent exhibition hall, temporary
exhibition room, audio visual, film screenings,
auditorium, library, collections
storage space, and
administrative space. An explanation
of this facility will be discussed
below.

Permanent Exhibition Room
Museum of the Asian-African Conference has a permanent exhibition room,
which exhibits
collections of three-dimension objects and documentary
photos of Tugu Meeting, Colombo Conference, and Asian-
African Conference 1955.

background of the Asian-African Conference; -
the
effect of
the
Asian-African
Conference to the world;Gedung Merdeka from
time to times;
Profile of the participant countries of the Asian-African Conference that are performed
in the multimedia.
b. Library
To support
the activities of
the Museum of the Asian-African Conference
in 1985, Abdullah Kamil (the
Ambassador of Indonesian in London) gave the idea of providing a library. The library provides many
books on history, social, politic,
and culture of
the Asian African
Countries and others;
documents of
the Asian-African Conference and
its preliminary conferences; magazines ad newspapers donated from other
institutions or gained
by
purchase.
c.
Audiovisual
Along with the establishing of the library, audiovisual room was set up as well. The room is
applied to perform documentary films on world
condition until 1950s,
Asian-African Conference and its preliminary conferences, and
films about the culture of the Asian-African Countries.
B. UPI (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia)
Introduction
: Museum National Education University of Indonesia Education was founded
on the initiative of Prof. Dr. Sunaryo Kartadinata M.Pd and supported by the Governor of West Java, H. Ahmad Heryawan, Lc. Pembangunan Pendidikan National Education is one of the responsibilities of UPI as a university
that has
concern for the preservation of cultural heritage of the nation especially in the field of education. National Education is expected
to be a vehicle for research
centers, as well as learning and learning resources, which can improve the
competence of educators and the insights of learners in striving
to improve the
quality of education, as well as a cultural tourism destination in West Java and
National. Because basically humans
do not study the past, but the future. The
museum is expected to be a vehicle for visitors to not only see the collection something to see, but can do something something to do and various experiences
something to share, and buy
something that can be a memento something to buy.
The National Education Museum The University
of Indonesia Education records the history of national education through conservation, education and research and
recreation efforts "Leading and Outstanding".

Exhibition Room :

The First floor
: There is an audio
visual room that will explain thoroughly about this museum of UPI. And in this
floor explain about the classical era of education, there is an interesting
diorama that will show how the educational system prehistoric era, ranging from
socio-cultural development, science and technology. And then the area of the
museum has been equipped electronic display as additional data through the
digital photo electronic.

The Second floor : a space that exhibits
the development of the history of education in Indonesiafrom time to time and
until now. And this floor explain about history of education ranging from the
classical period, colonial period of
colonilism, the period of national movement, the early days of independence and
referees are presented in this room. And from of collction such as display of
school buildings, how to teach in the classroom, the concept of education,
curiculum, material lessons until cost of school.
On
the second floor of this museum is also provided support rooms such as library
space, research rooms and temporary rooms.

The Third floor
: On the third of UPI
Bandung national education museum is showing of the history of education and
history of teachers from colonial era until the reform era. And here is
triangle-shaped or triangle puzzle wall that can be arranged into lessons at
school teachers from time to time.
On
this floor there is also a display of seven wax statues that will explain the
picture change of the figure of a teacher from the colonial era until the
present or now.

The Fourth floor
: On the next floor of
National education museum UPI Bandung, you will see how the history of the
university of Indonesia sarted from the beginning of 1954 as the latest PTPG
until UPI.
Even
how the future of UPI is also exhibited, including the history space of the
Isola building during the struggle of Indonesian independence plus contemporary
exhibition space.

The Fifth floor
: The fifth floor of the
museum building is a support area to make the museum feel can be packed as a place
to learn as well as a fun place for holiday or recreation.
On this floor is a
beautiful garden area equipped
with ala Cafe in Bandung with outdoor concept, as a place to unwind and rest after
you tired of
walking around the museum. From the 5th floor of
Upi Museum, besides you can enjoy culinary delights, good food and drinks, you can also enjoy the natural scenery to the north where seen slaah one tourist destination in Lembang namely Mount Tangkuban
Perahu.

Strengths
Through the museum, history can be studied in more depth. through
museums also the public can see evidence from history. People can better know
who their ancestors are and how their way
of life, if we want to
take a deeper look, Many unique and interesting
things that can be seen and learned from the museum. One of
them is like what is in the National Education
Museum. Unlike most Museums, the National Education Museum has some uniqueness. If the museum usually
only
displays collections from the past, but in the National Education Museum presents how
education in the future. And
also the ticket prices are very cheap, only 5 thousand per person, in addition to
our recreation
we
also learn about how the ancient
education.4
b. Weaknesses
The weakness of this museum when we
visit there is one of Bandung's museum collection of
fire oceans
are
being cleaned.

Opportunities
Actually
a lot
of opportunities that can be expected or managed from the

A. Strengths
Ticket to the museum Asian-African Conference is free. With the
price of ticket the Asian-African Conference is free, in this museum
you can watch
from close range of valuable collections such as photographs of events documentation
Monument Meeting, Bogor Conference, Colombo Conference, and Asian-African Conference which took place in 1955. Here you can also

knowledge of the

this
international gathering, the influence
of Asian-African Conference for the
world, from of Gedung Merdeka from time to time, as well as profiles of Asian-African participating
countries which are
all
stored in from of multimedia files.
B. Weaknesses
The weakness of this museum
Asian-African
Conference is
the
parking lot for the bus which is very far
away. And this make visitors required to walk approximately 100 meters from
the
park to the museum.
C. Opportunities
Actually
a lot of opportunities that can be expected or managed from the
aerospace museum Asian-African Conference include :
Many school children who are interested in the existence of this museum
because of its history and collection
The
maintenance of
a good collection
of the museum management
D. Threats
This museum is very far parking lot will affect the interest of visitors to
come to Museum Asian-African Conference. And that would be a direct threat
of the museum.

Asian-African Museum is located
in the city of Bandung. The location was not far from the town square of Bandung, so easy
to reach. Before entering, you have to
wait queue because

visitors are
enthusiastic

enter this
Asian-African
Museum. When you enter
the first room, you
are presented with a collection
of unique museums and will be explained by the officers about the collection of the museum. After that you are taken to a room where you watch the documentary of Asian-
African Conference at that time. After

place which is the place of the Asian-African Conference, in this room there
are several countries who joined the Asian-African Conference. The
next room is the room of souvenir, you can buy some souvenir
from the museum near the exit.
In this case I recommend to visit this educational museum,
because this place is very interesting and
important to increase our
knowledge as a student
in particular.
